From the very start, with Mr Kerr coming out between Christmas and New Year to quote and to take the time to visit the 3rd floor property the move was from, and then on to a mews square with a tight turn in and an upstairs window the sofa was to be delivered through - he took the time to think through the logistics and think about measurements. It was a joy to meet Mr Kerr and to hear about the history of this genuine family business with 3 generations currently working in the business. 2 large vans were sent (rather than a lorry with the tight turn in) and plenty of manpower - so all thought through beautifully with each man taking 1 flight of stairs - which was genius. The packing was also done. The other 2 local companies I contacted for a quote only sent me a questionnaire and weren't prepared to come and have a look - so I didn't bother going any further with them as I knew there would be serious complications if they weren't prepared to see the job initially. If you are moving in and around Edinburgh or from Edinburgh - really don't look at another company as this company is truly excellent.
I don't normally take time to write reviews but just wanted to warn people of this company. The men parked their van blocking a busy road when it was very easily possible to park one metre to the side to allow other cars to pass. When asked to move, was told the driver had "gone for lunch". Staff were very rude and unprofessional. Have seen similar experiences by others on Google. If you are considering how this removal company will affect your neighbours, please avoid this company at all costs, the attitude of their staff was absolutely appalling.

We moved from a large family home in Surrey to a large upper-floor flat in central Edinburgh in November 2021. And we started the process with a quote from Bill Kerr via a video-tour call from my mobile phone at home in Surrey. Kerr's planned perfectly for the move to take place over four days - starting with efficiently and securely packing up our Surrey home over 1.5 days (including a baby grand piano and several potted olive and lemon trees!) and our possessions were delivered and unloaded in perfect condition into our new Edinburgh home on day four. Our possessions were moved from Surrey in one very large removals van, and loaded into several smaller vans for delivery to the new Edinburgh address due to a height restriction at our new property. Everything went very smoothly! Everyone we dealt with a Kerr's was helpful, professional and a pleasure to deal with and our possessions arrived in perfect condition after their very long journey! It felt like it might be quite a complicated move - a long distance, a lot of possessions, needed to be done over several days, including moving our possessions from one large van to several smaller vans for access to the new home - but Kerr's took all of the stress out of it and delivered a first-class service. The paperwork we received from Kerr's was also very clear - setting out the move plan really clearly, the price, the insurance etc. This paperwork was much clearer and easier to read than the paperwork we had received from other removals quotes for this move. Thank you also to Kerr's for that. It costs a few thousand pounds for this type of long-distance move, but Kerr's price was very competitive compared to the big nationally branded moving companies and as we have said, the service was first class and very much tailored to our needs. We would highly recommend Kerr's and would use again, not that we plan to move again any time soon!
Kerr's Removals were really great and provided an excellent service. They provided a prompt, reasonable quote and all the boxes and packing materials in advance. All interactions and communications with staff have been very positive. The removal men on the day were very efficient and helpful and professional. All of our furniture and many boxes of books and other items were moved and transported to our new house with out any problems at all. We would definitely recommend Kerr's.
